Mr Oswald
Also in post-production! Additional information is available at the link above.
These diner scenes were all about location. We had the subjects near a giant window that I was constantly fighting with – and all I had a was a 4×4 kino! Basically we had to arm that sucker out and get it VERY low to get the exposure we wanted. Everything else was o’natural! (In addition to the white side of a 4×4 bounce board).
This little bathroom scene was just an Arri 300 with 1/4 CTO in the back corner and an open faced Arri 650 blasting through the window for diffusion. Nice, soft and simple.
The resthome scenes brought everything to a new level – it was very dark – so we had to hide lights in all the corners for this hallway shot.
Through the curtains we blasted an Arri 1k and an Arri 2k – angled just right and diffused just right (they also gave a nice little cookie! which you’ll have to see in the film).
And for the night version of the room, just added some CTB and pulled back the curtain. Also just added an Arri 300 in the background to fill the entrance.
The bedroom was a little more tricky. We had to level out the 2k (rocky mount!) and bounce it through the room and also bounce an Arri 300 in the corner to get the fill we needed.
And for this night version our director really wanted some conflicting colors with a tad of expression. So there you go!
